| Re-entry Ground Track of Progress M1-3
Progress M1-3 made a retro-rocket firing 2000 November 1 at 07:05 UTC, and a re-entry at approximately 160 degrees West longitude and 16 degrees South latitude. It provides a good starting point for an analysis of the probable re-entry model for Mir.
As the map below shows - from the location of retro-fire just south of the Aral Sea, Progress M1-3 passed over the central Asian land mass, across the Japanese island of Hokkaido and then over open Ocean to a re-entry above the southern Pacific near Tahiti and the Cook Islands at 07:40 UTC:
